The Fall of the Rebel Angels is an oil painting by the Italian late Baroque artist Luca Giordano. The image of Saint Michael mirrors that of classical iconography, showing spread wings alongside a sword, a heavenly dress and a red cape; intent on expelling the demons that came from the underworld on the earth. This painting is a follow up on the same subject from 1663 (also a pocket square we offer), the key differences being that in this version, St. Michael is portrayed holding a sword instead of a lance and his head is covered with a helmet.
